Behind Every Seam

On International Women’s Day, we pause to recognize the women whose hands, knowledge, and dedication shape every niLuu piece.

First established by the United Nations, International Women’s Day is a global moment to reflect on progress, equity, and the ongoing work of creating opportunity for women across industries.

From the beginning, niLuu was built with a deep sense of responsibility: to create garments that feel beautiful against the skin, and to create meaningful opportunity behind the seams.

Our collections come to life in Turkey, where skilled women artisans bring each design into form. Across the fashion industry, conversations around women in manufacturing and ethical production continue to evolve, highlighted by organizations such as UN Women and global initiatives advocating for dignified work and economic independence.

Their work is not simply production. It is expertise refined over years. It is discipline, patience, and artistry passed down and perfected. It is precision in every cut, intention in every stitch, and pride in every finished silhouette.

When you explore niLuu’s pieces, you are not only discovering fabric and form. You are discovering the work of women whose skill transforms silk into something lasting.

Craft as Independence

True luxury is not only how something looks, it is how it is made.

The women who craft niLuu garments are highly trained professionals. Their knowledge shapes the drape of a sleeve, the balance of a hem, the quiet strength of a seam. Their artistry supports not only our designs, but their own independence and growth.

Responsible production is central to the future of fashion. Industry-wide frameworks such as the Ethical Trading Initiative and the Fashion Revolution continue to push for transparency and accountability, values we deeply respect.

We believe sustainability is inseparable from responsibility. Through thoughtful production and long-term partnerships, we aim to build something enduring. For the women who wear niLuu and for the women who create it.

Our Founder’s Perspective on Women Empowerment

For niLuu’s founder, Nilüfer Bracco, women empowerment is not a marketing phrase, it is a lived experience shaped by her upbringing and professional journey.

She was born and raised in a small town outside Istanbul, where opportunities for women were often limited by circumstance rather than choice. In that environment, traditional paths were common, but alternative ambitions required unusual determination and access to opportunity.

From the earliest stages of developing the brand, commercial success and responsible opportunity were intertwined objectives. She aimed to build a company sustained by the marketplace while creating meaningful professional pathways for women.

“Therefore, ever since I started working on the launch of niLuu, my primary concern has been to develop a brand with successful products offered in the marketplace. But always, in the back of my mind, I feel a responsibility to create professional opportunities for women. Primarily, but not limited to, women from the region of Turkey where I am originally from.”

Today, that philosophy is reflected in niLuu’s partnerships and in its collaboration with a woman-led atelier in Turkey, where skilled women construct the garments with precision and pride.

For Nilüfer, empowerment extends beyond the present moment. It is generational.

“Women empowerment is ultimately about ensuring that every little girl from anywhere will be able to pursue her dreams and fulfill her true potential.”

On International Women’s Day, this belief remains at the heart of niLuu, honoring not only the women who wear the garments, but the women whose expertise and independence bring them to life.
