Your Journey in Wellness

You started as a triathlete and later transitioned into psychology, oriental therapies, and Ayurveda. What inspired you to make this shift, and how has your background influenced your approach to well-being?

Athletics has been a strong influence in my life since I was a child. My father was a swimmer and professional fighter and I was 7 years old when I had my first swimming competition. I strongly believe that sports, more than anything, bring you a sense of responsibility and commitment to your overall health.
I always knew that the triathlon was more of a hobby, which is why I kept my studies as a priority. Psychology, Oriental Therapies, and Ayurveda are ways of treating people and preventing mental and bodily imbalances, so they are very integrated.

Ayurveda & Modern Living

Ayurveda is an ancient practice, yet you’ve successfully integrated it into modern lifestyles. What are some simple Ayurvedic rituals people can incorporate into their daily routine while staying at home?

There are simple things we can incorporate that not only make a big difference by giving us more energy, focus, and better digestion but also make us want more of it:

  • Scraping the tongue in the morning after oil pulling
  • Drinking a cup of warm water with lemon juice
  • Taking 10 minutes to do a breathing exercise, journaling, and meditating
  • Moving your body
  • Walking barefoot in the grass or sand and taking time to connect with nature
  • Eating more fresh food, always practicing conscious eating (no talking, no phone, no work, chewing the food, and adding different colors to your plate). Drink more water (should not be iced) and teas.
  • Chewing fennel seeds after meals
  • Doing a cleanse or fasting for a day from time to time
  • Going to sleep around 10 PM and waking up around 6 AM at least 4 times a week

Detox & Self-Care

Your Detox Power program is highly regarded for its transformative effects. What are some easy detox practices we can do at home to reset our bodies and minds?

An intense cleanse is a restart/reset for the whole system. This includes not only special food cooked with specific spices but also activities, meditation, herbs, oils, and special fibers associated with saunas and massages. This intense detox is recommended in Ayurveda every three months, especially when the seasons change.

For daily maintenance or gradual cleansing, we should follow the activities listed before and, at least 3 days per month, eat very clean—no animal protein, no gluten, no sugar, lots of tea, and warm water.

Facial Yoga & Natural Beauty

You developed Yauvana Facial Yoga, a technique that enhances natural beauty. Can you share a simple facial yoga exercise we can practice at home for glowing skin?

  • Massaging your ears is an amazing exercise that brings many benefits. The ears, like the feet, have reflexology points that correspond to our organs and their functions. This also promotes a natural glow by stimulating the lymphatic system and increasing blood flow to the face, delivering nutrients and oxygen while boosting collagen production.
  • Start by placing each ear between your index and middle fingers and making 8 circular movements in one direction, then in the other.
  • Stretch your entire ear with slow, long movements—downwards, sideways, and upwards.
  • Now, tilt your face upward, smile, and exaggerate kissing motions towards the sky while making a smacking sound. This "Kiss the Sky" exercise is excellent for the neck and facial contours.

Creating a Spa Experience at Home

With so many people prioritizing self-care at home, what are your top tips for recreating a relaxing spa experience using simple ingredients or rituals?

  • Set up your bathroom for special bath rituals with candles, essential oils, carrier oils, magnesium salt, and a comfortable bathtub pillow.
  • Use a red light therapy panel or mat for stretching or relaxation, benefiting both beauty and sleep quality.
  • Create a sacred space at home where you can be quiet—meditating, journaling, reading, or simply unwinding with a face mask and your favorite tea.

Wellness Philosophy

Your philosophy is centered around individualized attention and detail. How can we apply this philosophy to our personal self-care routines, especially in high-stress environments?

Understanding who we are—our unique characteristics and needs—is essential. Sometimes we follow trends that may work for others but not for us. Ayurveda teaches us to truly know ourselves so we can become our own healers.

Mind-Body Connection

You’ve studied with Deepak Chopra and now represent the Perfect Health Program. What’s one key lesson you’ve learned about the connection between mind and body that everyone should know?

The biggest lesson I learned from Deepak changed my perception of meditation. At that time, I was overwhelmed with maintaining a healthy lifestyle—diet, exercise, rituals, cooking, and Ayurvedic routines. I felt I couldn't add 30 minutes of meditation to all of this.

When I shared this struggle, he told me something I’ll never forget:
"Renata, if you have to pick one single thing from all you are learning here, pick the meditation practice. Because when you really do it, your time will multiply, your focus and mental performance will improve, you will look more beautiful without struggling, you will age slowly with a calmer mind, and by doing less, you will accomplish more.

Your Personal Self-Care Routine

As a wellness expert, how do you personally unwind and recharge? Do you have any favorite rituals or habits that keep you feeling balanced?

I follow my morning routine exactly as I described above (Question 2) as much as possible. My day feels very different and challenging when I miss it.

Niluu & Wellness Lifestyle

As someone deeply committed to well-being and self-care, how does wearing niluu align with your philosophy of living a balanced and mindful life?

I am passionate about my work and have always worked with purpose. Once I understood Niluu’s concept and sustainability mission, I instantly connected with the brand. After getting to know the amazing human behind the brand, my appreciation and connection grew even stronger.

Comfort & Elegance

You have several Niluu pieces—what do you love most about them? Is there a particular piece that makes you feel especially comfortable or confident?  Why does it stand out?

It’s very hard for me to pick just one because I love them all, but the kimonos have my entire heart. I can wear them at home and feel comfortable and beautiful, or I can dress them up with nice shoes and a bag for a sophisticated look at any event.

Fashion & Self-Care

Self-care isn’t just about skincare and rituals—it’s also about what we wear. How do you think clothing, like Niluu’s, plays a role in feeling good both inside and out?

Wearing Niluu makes me feel comfortable and connected with nature while maintaining a naturally sophisticated look that reflects self-care. Being conscious of the materials I wear and the energy they carry makes me feel good inside and out.

At-Home Luxury

Niluu is designed for effortless elegance, whether at home or on the go. How do you incorporate your Niluu pieces into your daily routine, whether for relaxation, work, or travel?

To me, Niluu’s versatility is one of its greatest qualities. Depending on how I style my pieces and the accessories I choose, I can wear the same clothing in completely different settings.
